China's industrial raw coal output fell 2.9% year-on-year in April 2024
The latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics shows that in April 2024, the raw coal output of industrial enterprises above designated size in China was 370 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.9%, which narrowed compared with the decline in March, an increase of 1.3 percentage points. In addition, the average daily raw coal output for the month reached 12.39 million tons.
During the same period, China's coal imports reached 45.25 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 11.3%, showing a relatively obvious growth momentum. From the beginning of the year to April, the cumulative raw coal output was 1.48 billion tons, still down 3.5% year-on-year. However, the total amount of imported coal reached 160 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 13.1%.
